About Cheri Ham

Hands-on cybersecurity and technology leader with roots in IT systems, infrastructure, and service operations. I built my foundation in identity, networking, endpoint support, and operational troubleshooting before moving into 24/7 SOC and MDR environments. That cross-functional grounding allows me to lead across security, infrastructure, and service delivery with equal fluency. Technically engaged in alert triage, ransomware response, endpoint investigations across EDR/XDR platforms, threat hunting aligned to MITRE ATT & CK, detection engineering, telemetry optimization, and SIEM performance tuning. I focus on reducing alert fatigue, improving signal integrity, and building measurable detection standards that align to business risk. Beyond security operations, I’ve led multi-tenant environments, drove vendor relationships and contract negotiations, partnered with sales and executive leadership, supported audits and compliance initiatives, and helped scale onboarding, and KPI reporting. I build structure where there is ambiguity, elevate technical standards, and mentor teams to operate with discipline and accountability. Equally comfortable as a senior individual contributor or technical leader, I translate complex technical environments into resilient, scalable operations. I stay close to the technology and I lead from it.
