About Ivan Cheng
Many people want to improve their life through taking better decisions, but they always fall back to who they were and take the wrong path again. That\'s where I come in:Hi! My name is Ivan Cheng. From 2018, I tried to start programming with C++ when I was 16. I have been passionate about figuring out how things work behind the scenes since I was little. But programming was a scary term to me because I didn\'t know where to start. With several attempts, I felt frustrated and overwhelming because how rough C++ is to a beginner. So I just put this programming dream back to my bucket list and wished I can make it real one day. & :After months, while volunteering to help people improve their life in my country, Taiwan, for 2 years. I experienced with various programming developement experience and realized how programming and software could change individual\'s life over the world. As results of my programming and mentoring efforts, I have: Top 29% in international hackathon over teams from 75 countries Received Software Engineering internship offer as a freshman Contribute to 3+ Machine Learning projects with associations like Florida State University, Skep (NGO), and Pioneer Baseball League at BYUI Data Sciene Society Expanded foreign language library from ~21K to 31K entries (49% increase) in a global genealogy company over 25M+ users as an intern. Mentored and secured intern/ job offers for 400+ college-level studentsConducted 8+ job market readiness trainings and presentations Solved problems by utilizing several programming and technical skillsI\'m not always cracking the codes in front of my computer. Tbh, one of the goals that I\'ve been pursuing for my lifetime is to be a polyglot (multilingual person). I\'ve tried to pretend I\'m a native Japanese last summer in Kyoto and it worked, sometimes.
