Working in Aurora Machine Learning Data Engine team. Leading various critical projects; driving collaborations across organizations/teams; hands on design, build and productionize a list of high quality, high efficiency, salable engineering solutions to solve all sorts of business challenges. Example projects: Autonomous vehicle safely and smoothly drives without the HD map support is super critical. Boundary model is the core which guides the AV at such case. As the lead of the online map boundary model continuous learning project, when I step in this project, the model suffers performance issue; also label data was very limited and had serious quality issues. I lead a team with 5 dev, 1 PM, and 100 labeling resource team, collaborated with various partner teams, design and successfully built end-to-end high quality, scalable continuous learning solution, which covers the full model development lifecycle. Now we see high quality (95+%) and large scale of label dataset continuously created and added into model training and evaluation; model KPIs improved 60+% and continuously improving. Lead and successfully build 3D object detection and label auto creation project. Hands on research, dataset creation, model training, deep dive analysis of the experiments’ results, and making improvements. Successfully launched the model into the production and serving thousands of active users concurrent using in realtime, and observed significant productivity and quality improvement, getting strong positive feedbacks.
