ABOUT CHELSEA WONG
I graduated with a Business Management and Psychology degree at the University of Aberdeen in 2022. I consider myself as an ambitious, organised, hard-working and motivated individual, with a keen interest in providing a positive impact on people around me. I live with Lupus, an autoimmune condition that hinders my everyday activities. Being diagnosed at such a young age (14) was extreme difficult, but I learned to adapt from this life-changing event. I persevered every hardship, learned to be organised by planning round my energy levels and be efficient to work best for me, whilst creating results. I became interested in other people’s stories, leading me to the rare disease space. I now advocate for our community and spread awareness for our reality. I have conducted presentations on Engaging young people in healthcare, Transition to paediatrics to adult services, and Medical gaslighting as well as participated in panel discussions in Becoming an effective advocate, Medical affairs, Genetics and more. I indulge in many creative passions, which involves writing, where I write articles on my first-hand experience on racism and chronic illness. I also enjoy drawing, video editing and photography.
