ABOUT CHELSEA HISHON

I am a passionate civil litigator with a strong focus on representing victims of sexual abuse. With over a decade of practice, I have dedicated my career to fighting for justice, empowering survivors, and fostering positive change within the legal system. While established in London, Ontario, I assist victims from across the country who seek compensation for injuries resulting from both recent and historical cases of sexual abuse.My approach is deeply rooted in trauma-informed care, ensuring that I provide compassionate and sensitive support to my clients. I understand the profound impact of trauma and work to create a safe and supportive environment throughout the legal process. Together with my clients, I navigate examinations for discoveries, mediations, and pre-trials, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.Beyond my casework, I actively engage with the community to raise awareness and educate frontline workers on victim rights and the legal avenues available to them. I have collaborated with various sexual assault centres, such as Anova, where I serve as a recurring member on the Justice Panel. In this capacity, I contribute to training crisis line workers, alongside members of the criminal justice system, to enhance their understanding of civil litigation for sexual assault survivors. I am also a regular guest lecturer at Western Law, where I speak about what it means to have a trauma informed practice.
