ABOUT CHELSEA CASABONA
I am a documentary filmmaker and journalist based in New York City. My writing has appeared in Mosaic, an NJ-based outlet, where I wrote about arts, culture, health, and sports. I am currently a freelance correspondent and videographer for PBS\'s \"A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity,\" a groundbreaking series produced by Beacon College in Leesburg, Florida. My first \"Family Matters\" segment, a powerful five-minute piece I filmed and edited, premiered in February 2025 on WUCF-TV and is available for streaming on the PBS app. In 2023, I combined my love for video creation and learning about the world around me by pursuing her master’s in documentary journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. I graduated with honors in August 2024. For my master’s project, I co-directed/produced/edited and filmed her first short-documentary, METTLE. The film was selected by the 2024 International Sport Film Festival where it won an award for the “Best Student Work”.
