About Chelsa Berthelson
I’ve spent the past 10 years in HR helping companies—especially startups—scale with intention. I’m drawn to early-stage environments where there’s more to build than fix, and where thoughtful systems can actually make people’s work (and lives) better. Most of my experience has been creating and evolving the full people function—hiring, onboarding, performance, compliance, culture. I care a lot about clarity, accountability, and designing processes that are useful, not just check-the-box. I work closely with business leaders to shape teams and orgs that are aligned, efficient, and grounded in trust. I think great people ops is less about perks and more about principles. The work should serve both the business and the people doing it. That means listening well, solving problems with context, and staying flexible without losing sight of the mission. I like to move quickly, stay low-ego, and focus on what matters. And I genuinely enjoy the work—building teams, improving systems, and helping people do their best work without unnecessary friction.
