ABOUT CHELBY NEWBERN

I have great interpersonal skills in developing connections with others and providing a safe space for conversations. I can effectively lesson plan and execute instructional skills in order to maximize student thinking. By tracking and analyzing data I make modifications to my lessons and instructional strategies. I maintain a rapport with students while exposing them to educational/social opportunities to develop their mindset of self. Well versed on best practices and classroom management, I know what it takes to have an effective classroom that is prosperous for both the student and teacher. I have strong leadership skills that express themselves in a multitude of ways including working with students as well as adults. In order to help create other strong leaders I develop opportunities to allow people to see the leadership skills that they possess, increasing their sense of empowerment, which allows them to positively, impact their community. As a school leader I have led Professional development sessions, targeted cultural trends and facilitated a culture of feedback to ensure that we are growing as teachers and implementing the best strategies for our team keeping students at the center of our focus.
