About Pankaj Kumar Chauhan
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Dept. of Genitourinary Medical Oncology, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center mentored by Dr Pavlos Msaouel. I focus on transcriptome and spatial-omic data in a highly collaborative environment consisting of scientists and physicians. Before this, as a PhD Research Scholar at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research), Bengaluru, I worked on heart muscle diseases: cardiomyopathies. My research focus varied from individual proteins to the whole diseasome in cardiomyopathy diseases. Computational biology and data analytics can potentially boost clinical and medical advancements. My previous academic exposure in the specialized field of systems biology has always given me strategic advantages in the integrative computational analysis of biological systems. I am certified in bioinformatics via the Bioinformatics National Certification Examination (BINC) conducted by the Department of Biotechnology (Govt. of India). Apart from this, I was tasked with the responsibility of the Lab System Administrator to manage the day-to-day activities of Lab clusters and servers. With a focus on the optimum utilization of resources, my job ensured critical computing facilities of the lab were running. My creative side includes nature-inspired poetry and landscape-themed painting. I am also a passionate Marathon runner and previously shared this experience as a freelance Associate Coach at \'Cult-Run\' with aspiring runners in reaching their health and fitness goals.
