About Andrew Chau
I like building systems where data actually makes sense. Most of my work has been at the intersection of backend engineering and data, designing services and pipelines that keep systems in sync without breaking at scale. At Fincons, I worked with AppleTV+ and built a metadata platform that connected 7 different business systems. That meant designing Kafka pipelines for real-time data flow and building a federated GraphQL layer so teams could access consistent, up-to-date data. Since then, I\'ve worked on ETL pipelines with Snowflake and Airflow, presented leadership and character workshops to university students in Vietnam, and even performed live music to ~60 people. I enjoy tackling problems involving distributed systems, data at scale, and simplifying complex architectures. Outside of work, I spend time rock climbing, cooking, and organizing events for university and high school students. I’m currently looking for backend or data engineering roles.
