ABOUT CHARU LAVANIA
A passionate Mental Health Professional who works as a Counselling Psychologist in order to facilitate client awareness and emotional growth. My work is focused on driving effective outcomes in Individual Therapy. Credentials: Started the educational journey towards becoming a psychologist at Delhi University by pursuing BA (Honours) in Psychology. Post that, did MSc in Counselling Psychology from Christ University, Bengaluru, India and is currently pursuing my PhD on Child Sexual Abuse, from the same. Certifications: • LGB Affirmative Therapy • Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist Have been involved in catering to the Counselling and other related functions for a demography which mostly consisted of young adults and children. Currently, working as a School Counsellor at New Horizon Gurukul, Bangalore. Individual Therapy: Implementing effective therapeutic methods to instil self-understanding among clients and encourage them to new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. I believe that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix; it is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the client and the therapist alike. But, in the end, making small changes to self defeating behaviour and coping with feelings of sadness, fear and pain can bring life altering results.
