Currently assisting Broome County with the development of a NYSDOS-funded Countywide Resiliency This project focuses on strategies that benefit disadvantaged communities and strengthen resiliency post climate-disasters such as flooding, extreme heat, wildfires, drought, and winter storms. Ms. John leads the facilitation of Resiliency Advisory Committee meetings, the development of community outreach and engagement activities, building a County Profile, conducting asset inventories and vulnerability assessments, and developing project profiles for climate resiliency.Watertown Jefferson County Transportation Council (WJCTC) EV Development PlanThis report focuses on a market study to project future EV demand and a feasibility study (utility analysis) to determine capacity for developing EV charging infrastructure. Ms. John conducts EV policy research, identify gaps for EV infrastructure and utility capacity, and identifies strategies for EV adoption for the MPO boundary.Assisted the City of Peekskill in requesting grant funding to develop an open space inventory and plan (OSI/P) to study land use patterns and conservation strategies that will help protect the city’s drinking water source watershed. The project aims to implement drinking water source protection strategies from the city’s drinking water source protection plan (DWSP2). Assisted Town of Lloyd in requesting grants to finance a renewable solar installation at the municipality’s public works facility. The project–requested through NYDEC Climate Smart Communities Grant–aims to reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions for constituents in a disadvantaged community.
