ABOUT CHARLOTTE ANNE WRIGHT

Charlotte Wright is committed to building a world where all children have access to joyful, meaningful playful learning experiences, and where the adults in their lives feel supported in helping them thrive. As a learning designer and researcher at Begin, she brings this mission to life by helping design products to be grounded in the latest research on how young children learn best. At Begin, she conducts research with children and families to ensure every product experience sparks joy, ignites curiosity, and fosters deep learning.Charlotte’s career began with nearly a decade as a preschool and kindergarten teacher. Before joining Begin, Charlotte was the LEGO Foundation Research Fellow and a Senior Research Associate at Temple University’s Infant and Child Lab, where she led LEGO\'s Playful Learning and Joyful Parenting project with Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek. Her research and learning design experience in children’s media also includes projects with Sago Mini, Sesame Workshop, and WNET. She developed the early childhood content developer guidelines and related training and resources for the English Learners Success Forum (ELSF), and wrote and starred in the Playful Learning masterclasses for parents featured on the early childhood app, Kinedu. She serves as the Bay Area Chapter President for the Children’s Media Association.Her work has been published in Frontiers in Developmental Psychology, Early Childhood Research Quarterly, Young Children, Teachers and Teaching, The Journal of Children and Media, and The Reading Teacher and has been featured in The Hechinger Report, Brookings Institution Blog, BOLD Education, The Digital Museum for Learning, Fritz+Fränzi, and Fatherly.
