For example, over the last decade, the profusion of disposable instruments in surgery has resulted in significant and costly issues for hospitals, as they seek to dispose of this waste. Much of the waste is incinerated, causing damage to the atmosphere or sent to land-fill. Now, wherever possible, we take waste out of the system by using reusable elements in our instruments. This change reduces a) the cost of the product, b) the amount of waste, and c) the cost of waste disposal, resulting in huge cost savings to the hospital and environment
