From June 2023 - October 2024 I led the Learning & Development team through the transition from National Grid. Building the L&D team from the ground up, designing the new People Capability framework, and bringing the external MSP provision in house. Strategy; Responsible for creating the NESO 5 year Learning & Development strategy. Making the shift from a reactive team to proactive business collaboration. Using Communities of Practice, AI, LMS and horizon scanning to ensure NESOs learning offerings are innovative, relevant and engaging. Leadership Development; Leading a team of L&D Specialists to deliver Leadership Development programmes. Responsible for NESO\'s flagship development programme; EmpowerU; giving newly hired and promoted managers the tools they need to succeed in management roles. On a journey to building the holistic leadership development journey. Contract Management; Ensuring NESO has best in class learning providers who are fully aligned to our purpose, vision and values; offering interactive, fit-for-purpose and truly inclusive learning. Content Curation; Leading a team of L&D Specialists to create bespoke learning in line with business need. Supporting workshops and facilitation, delivering psychometric training and creating in-house content relevant to our core capabilities. Future Skills; Focusing on external insights to gain a better understanding of the skills shortage across the industry as we work towards net zero. Utilising insights to drive strategic workforce planning and future skills requirements. Building external relationships to form strategic partnerships, supporting STEM in schools and University strategies.
