About Charlie Hermes
I have a 10+ year track record starting, building and managing high-growth businesses primarily in the ed-tech space. My skill set is in raising capital, setting strategy, business development, and managing implementation. Currently, I’m the Chairman and CEO of MathHelp.com, an online math tutoring and test prep company I co-founded. Our SAAS subscription website together with an extensive line of apps, have provided hundreds of thousands of students with math tutoring, standardized test prep, and homeschooling. It’s a great business that builds math foundations and changes lives for the better. Before founding MathHelp.com, I started a company named Practical, LLC dedicated to providing online distance learning courses to rural and inner city schools. The company was acquired via merger three years after its founding. I have also tried hard over the years to help others grow their businesses by providing consulting services. Examples of clients include Goldman Sachs, Grammaropolis (an online grammar content business), and CRMatic (custom provider of CRM solutions). I live in Houston, TX. I went to the University of Virginia on the Jefferson Scholarship (thank you UVA!) where I got a BA in Biology, a Masters in Systems Engineering, and an MBA from the Darden School of Business.
