For five years now, I have had the job of being a golf caddie. Looking from the outside in, caddying seems simple, just carrying a bag around for a golfer. In reality however, there is much more that goes into caddying than meets the eye. A word that comes to mind when I think about caddying is critical thinking. As a caddie, you should be giving the golfer advice on which club to use and what shot to hit. Also, when on the putting green, give him or her an accurate read on which way the ball will go and how hard they should hit it. This all is not very easy, because it forces you to make a quick decision and put your knowledge to the test. While mistakes may happen, consistency will leave you with quality results a lot of the time. I happened to be promoted to an honor caddie last year for my hard work and performance on the course. In the world of business, I can use my critical thinking skills learned from caddying in the world of business. I can give solutions to problems and provide cunning input through certain procedures that will ultimately help solve problems.
