ABOUT CHARLIE MAYER

Charlie is a rounded Strategy and Business Transformation professional, trusted with the responsibility to design, develop and deliver some of the most highly strategic and innovative projects for KPMG. To reach this position, Charlie has developed a balanced skillset by leading organizational-wide strategic planning and execution programs, corporate restructurings and high-pressured M&A transactions across a variety of geographies, sectors and companies sizes.As COO for Global Deal Advisory at KPMG, Charlie is currently responsible for bringing client issues and a market perspective to the deployment of KPMG’s Deal Advisory solutions. This involves designing and implementing go-to-market approaches that are compelling and competitive while instilling a collaborative approach to our work at many of the world largest multi-national companies. His team develops tailored and comprehensive recommendations to meet a client’s needs whatever their organization’s key issues from digital transformation & disruption, growth & performance, regulatory change and business protection. Charlie is committed to bringing the best of KPMG to every client engagement around the world and fostering a supportive and challenging culture that attracts and retains the best performers. Prior to his current role, Charlie was responsible for the execution of a multi-million dollar investment Strategic Growth Initiatives program. In this role Charlie oversaw the development, launch and scaling of six new solutions and business models across the KPMG global network. Earlier in his career, Charlie specialised in advising underperforming companies and their stakeholders on operational and financial restructurings. This involved helping stressed companies stay in control of their situation and helping very large groups of lenders solve difficult issues with underperforming loans. The tools and services that Charlie deployed included independent business reviews, cash and crisis management, working capital optimisation, strategic options reviews, asset and business disposals, debt/equity swaps, and contingency planning. Charlie has also worked in the KPMG Transaction Services team advising UK and International Corporates assess and execute acquisitions, disposals, mergers and IPOs.
