About Charlie Krakauer
I have always been fascinated by the ability data has to model the world around us. Using math to represent real life has excited me ever since I first took AP Statistics in high school. Now, as a student at the University of Rochester, I am honing the skills necessary to work with data at the highest level. Whether it be applying Dijkstra’s Algorithm in Java to create a GPS program or using Python to scrape data off of websites all over the internet, there are so many tools at our disposal to manipulate data. Recently, my love for math has intersected with my love for the game of basketball, which has led me to the field of sports analytics. Through outlets such as the University of Rochester Sports Analytics Club (which I co-founded) and the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, I have completely immersed myself in the field. I look forward to continuing to master the craft I have begun to dedicate my professional life to, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
