ABOUT CHARLIE GWINN

Charles F. Gwinn, CRRP / CRX / CMD / CSM is Senior General Manager of enclosed mall and open air shopping centers for the Chattanooga, TN-based CBL Properties as well as General Manager of Hanes Mall (Winston-Salem, NC). He began his career with the Richard E. Jacobs Group in 1979, and over his career has managed numerous and diverse regional malls and shopping centers along with authoring mall management and staff development programs for multiple companies. Charlie holds multiple accreditation in both management and marketing by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and was designated a Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP) in the inaugural 2019 class. He serves as a global faculty member for ICSC’s Schools for Professional Development—both domestically and internationally (with particular interests in Latin America, Asia and the Russian Federation), and is a past Dean of the University of Shopping Centers. Charlie is a graduate of Furman University. Currently, he serves as a board member (Past Board Chairman), Piedmont Triad (NC) Chapter of the American Red Cross and an Advisor to LEAF Global Arts. Previously, Charlie served as a board member (Past Board Chairman) of Harvest Hope Food Bank in SC; board member (Vice President) of the Indian Waters Council, Boy Scouts of America, and board member and chairman of the University of South Carolina National Retail Advisory Board to the School of Retailing where he has also served as a guest lecturer.
