ABOUT CHARLETTE BOWLING
With many years of experience in quality service, I serve as an HR Generalist, and equity advisor coordinator at a local nonprofit organization. I am an associate professor in higher education. I have an excellent strengths in seeing interconnectedness in all things. I am able to visualize how the structure of a company is set up, how it works, and finally to see a vision of how it can grow by watching and learning cohesively and working with others. I see all the building blocks and see how I fit in a role for the larger mission of the organization. Successes include organizational set up; achieving goals in various office environments; efficient in providing communications, operational strategies, human resources, administration, managerial, and also network and information technology support. My passion to serve others has led me to providing services for the greatest good of all in a deliberately equitable way. I became an ordained minister in 2012 and soon will celebrated my 12th year anniversary of that credential. I obtained my Bachelors degree in General Studies with a double minor in Communication Studies and Sociology in December 2018. In the summer of 2018 at IUPUI, I worked on a prestigious research project with the World Health Organization (WHO) for the IU School of Liberal Arts Global Health Communication Center (GHCC) in Indianapolis through a Diversity Summer Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (DS-UROP), which led to continued work with the WHO and the GHCC when I started in a Master’s program in summer of 2020 for Applied Communication. I received my MA in May 2022. I was appointed as a member of the nonprofit board in December of 2019, I served on the Indy Pride board of directors for almost 2 years. At the end, I was Vice President of Operations, Director of IT, and Director of Accessibility and Director of Technology Integration on the Executive board. I am most passionate about the needs in the intersection of the underrepresented and historically marginalized groups. I work to raise awareness and equity regarding the civil rights of all, and how to build bridges in the gaps of service and need for the community through my current organization, communications and content strategy for the university center. I look forward to seeing how I may be of assistance to you or your organization at a collaborative level. Thank you!
