ABOUT CHARLES R.

Charles Herman is a junior at American University’s Kogod School of Business in the Honors Program, pursuing a B.S. in Business Administration with a specialization in Real Estate Entrepreneurship. His work sits at the intersection of early stage investing, real estate innovation, and expanding access to capital, with a particular commitment to advancing opportunity for LGBTQ+ founders. He currently serves as Co Director of the Eagle Venture Seed Fund, the first fully student managed seed fund in Washington, D.C. In this role, he helps lead the fund’s investment process across sourcing, diligence, and strategy, while building the institutional foundation required to scale a high performing venture platform. He designed and implemented the fund’s first analyst onboarding and training program, strengthened its operating cadence, and helped grow the team by over sixty percent across the university. To date, the fund has deployed more than $20K across four portfolio investments including Prediction Guard, Procurement Science, Pysonic, and Quilt. Charles is currently focused on building the number one venture capital program on the East Coast, grounded in rigorous analysis, founder trust, and long term value creation.In parallel, he is an Investment Analyst Fellow at LGBT+VC, selected from over applicants. Through this experience, he developed Nestform Ventures, a $95M fund concept focused on prop tech and sustainable design, shaped through mentorship and insight from leading investors and firms such as MetaProp. He has gained national visibility through more than twenty industry events and has presented at the LGBT+VC Summit. On campus, Charles founded the Kogod Pride Alliance to create a lasting community for LGBTQ+ students pursuing careers in business, connecting them with founders, investors, and operators through panels, workshops, and conversations that matter. He enjoys connecting with builders and investors who are reimagining venture and real estate with conviction and purpose. Outside of work, Charles can be found walking his golden retriever Brody, exploring art museums, tracking real estate markets across DC, Connecticut, New York, and Boston, or drawing inspiration through interior design.
