About Charles Poeppelman
I care deeply about innovation that keeps people first, especially during moments of rapid change in healthcare and technology. My path into medtech began as a speech-language pathologist (SLP), where working directly with patients and families showed me both the power of technology to restore autonomy and the clear gaps that still exist within patient care. Moving into technology was never a departure from clinical care for me, it was an extension of it.Today I am a medtech leader focused on building markets and preparing healthcare ecosystems for emerging technologies. My work spans market development, referral pathway strategy, clinical education, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagement across neurology, neurosurgery, allied health, and assistive technology.At Synchron, I help introduce implantable brain computer interface technology (iBCI), working to ensure it is understood, trusted, and shaped by the lived experiences of the people it is designed to serve. A core part of my role involves developing care pathways, clinical readiness, and community engagement that support both clinical trials and long term adoption.By training I am an SLP and hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. I stay active in professional communities including ASHA’s Special Interest Group in Augmentative and Alternative Communication and the Implantable BCI Collaborative Community.
