ABOUT CHARLES PICKARD
In design I aim to improve the quality of life for the end building user and the client, by offering design solutions that satisfy both parties. Good design should deliver buildings with lasting architectural quality, which create and maintain value. It is important early in the design process that the potential risks in the construction process are considered to develop strategies for addressing them. For me design is a collaborative process which brings together all the skills needed to make a building that conforms to its context, use and user. I maintain knowledge of modern methods of construction to cut time and reduce risk on site, as well as providing the most effective cost efficient solutions that both complement and enhance the end building. I also understand broadly the British construction industry, with knowledge in residential, commercial and education sectors, industrial logistics. My ability to communicate design with technical knowledge allows me to provide build-able solutions or adaptions to suit individual projects. Recognising the importance of high quality design responses that meet the needs of my clients is of equal importance to providing contextualized design responses to each project.
