ABOUT CHARLES LEBETER
My career so far has been spent, firstly as a qualified employment lawyer and then moving into HR, working in the UK and Internationally within Financial and Professional Services (real estate) and now Fin Tech. I\'m at my best when I have the space and mandate to influence and design the people plan in order to deliver the business strategy. Acting as trusted partner to CEOs and business leaders, representing HR at an executive level - but also maintaining contact with colleagues at all levels - and being seen to deliver and \'roll my sleeves up\' as required. Challenge and change in complex and fast paced environments motivates me - and I seek to continuously innovate and improve the way in which HR delivers to the business. And to create a culture in which colleagues can thrive - most recently through a focus on diversity, equity & inclusion. In the HR roles I have undertaken, I\'ve sought to utilise my legal experience to anticipate, assess and effectively manage ER and people risks and provide clear direction and advice to business leaders when faced with ambiguity. As an employment lawyer my clients expected clear, commercial and timely advice - and, in that respect, nothing has changed in how I deliver as an HR professional. Finally, I can only be successful if my team are successful. I seek to set clear direction to my team and then create a culture whereby they can achieve their professional and personal goals - and stay happy and healthy.
