ABOUT CHARLIE MOTZKO
Dr. Motzko began his professional journey in 1957 when he joined the U.S. Air Force. and served in the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) program (AFSC 2PO71) until 1965. Throughout his long career, Dr. Motzko remained deeply involved in the ever-changing aerospace and defense technology sectors. In 1978, Dr. Motzko passed the state exam, in conjunction with work experience, and received his State of California Registered Professional Engineer License for Quality Engineering.In 1992, he founded his consultancy, utilizing decades of expertise in information management, logistics, service and support for technology selection and implementation, as well as domestic and global metrology operations. After a successful career of 50+ years as an executive, manager, engineer, and consultant, he retired his PE license in 2020 and is now devoting much of his time to teaching master classes in the management track. His academic achievements include a BA in Management Science from the University of Redlands (graduated in 1982) followed by enrollment in the Executive MBA program at UCLA\'s Anderson Graduate School of Management (graduated in 1984). His scholarly pursuits culminated with a Doctor of Management degree with a focus on Organizational Leadership and Design from the School of Advanced Studies at the University of Phoenix (graduated in 2008). His doctoral dissertation explored leadership style impact on organizational effectiveness across the global networks of National Measurement Institutes operating under the guidance of the 1875 Treaty of Metre Convention. Aside from his achievements in the private sector, Dr. Motzko has devoted more than four decades to serving in numerous not-for-profit roles within NCSL International (NCSLI). This dedication eventually led to him being elected as its president in 2002. Currently, he continues to uphold his professional reputation by actively participating in Writing Committees (WG) and Technical Advisory Groups (TAG). Today, Dr. Motzko continues to contribute to international documentary standards as a member of the TAG for the International Standards Alliance (USAID & ANSI) Interactive Reference Handbook (2022) titled \"STANDARDS, METROLOGY, & CONFORMITY ASSESSMENTS: Tools to Facilitate Trade and Market Access.\" Currently, Dr. Motzko serves as adjunct faculty at Wayland Baptist University\'s Tucson Campus Center. In this role, he shares his wealth of knowledge and experience with the next generation of leaders and innovators.
