ABOUT CHARLES JOHN WILDER

C. John Wilder is the Executive Chairman of Bluescape, an alternative investment firm he founded in 2007 to harness private capital, a global network, and extensive domain expertise to deliver exceptional long-term investment performance in the energy and utility sectors. Bluescape employs a disciplined, strategic approach to value creation, partnering with experienced management teams and offering capital and operational oversight through a team of senior executives, operators, and consultants. Under Wilder’s leadership, Bluescape has executed 40 major investments totaling nearly $3 billion, consistently achieving superior returns. Wilder is widely recognized for transforming underperforming companies, including NRG, TXU, and Entergy, into industry leaders, moving them from the bottom quartile to the top across key performance metrics. Twice named one of the Best-Performing CEOs in the World by the Harvard Business Review, Wilder has also been recognized as one of the Ten Best CEOs in America by Institutional Investor. Wilder is on the advisory boards of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He is a former advisory board member of the Global Energy Management Institute, University of Houston, and the Energy Management and Innovation Center, University of Texas. Wilder is also former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Texas Health Resources and is a past member of the National Petroleum Council, a U.S. Secretary of Energy appointment. Wilder began his career over 40 years ago at Royal Dutch/Shell, where he rose to CEO of Shell Capital in London. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southeast Missouri State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
