I have 28 years\' technical, business and management experience. I strive to deliver high quality, ‘Smart\' solutions, maintaining a focus on demonstrably meeting requirements, and addressing the principal risks.At Human Impact I\'m currently supporting clients in the UK nuclear and defence sectors with their human factors, safety, regulatory, cyber-security and management challenges. Following recent support to Marshall Wilson Ltd, active clients (as at May 2019) include General Dynamics United Kingdom Ltd, Hydrock Ltd, Husys Ltd and Risktec Solutions Ltd.Prior to this I was a Nuclear Safety Inspector at the Office for Nuclear Regulation, where I conducted a variety of assessments, inspections and other regulatory and corporate activities, with focus on major decommissioning programmes.At Frazer-Nash I supported clients in the nuclear and air traffic management (ATM) sectors, principally in the areas of regulatory compliance and assurance, management, safety case development and human factors.With Synergy I worked with civil nuclear clients developing both new systems and improving existing systems and procedures.Working through Human Impact previously, in 2007-11, I provided human factors consultancy to a wide variety of clients and industry sectors, including SBM, an oil and gas client in Monaco, helping them to achieve design and operability compliance on large projects for two leading operators, and London Underground, where I was Deputy Chief HF Engineer, then acting Chief Systems Engineer, for its £2bn stations upgrade programme, and delegated assurance authority for HF, systems integration and EMC.Charles is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (CEng), and Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (C.ErgHF, FCIEHF), for which he provides volunteer support to the membership team. Previously member of the UK BS/ ISO Standards Committee PH/ 9, he has supported the development of international human factors standards and guidance.
