ABOUT CHARLES WILLIAM LEWIS
Research Sociologist: Initiate, design, and lead social science projects, with expertise in qualitative methods, interview techniques, survey design and analysis, and database design. Have basic command of standard and multivariate statistics, statistical software (SPSS) packages, and quantitative analysis, with the ability to adapt methodologies to test new hypotheses. Write up results and present findings at conferences. Areas of expertise: Gender, human rights, civil-military issues, and international conflict/ development. Representative: Represent nonprofit/ agency at workshops, diplomatic events, fundraisers, and conferences. Initiate, design, and lead stakeholder tours, informational meetings, and formal seminars. Design and lead event-planning programs, including catering, diplomatic, and conference events of more than 250 people. Establish relationships with new stakeholders and public organizations. Writer and Speaker: Write grants, book reviews, panel briefs, and reports. Critique social science manuscripts and grant proposals. Teach students. Present data to scientists, the general public, the media, and management. Create workshops, seminars, and educational media for lay people. Experience with designing curriculum for adult, nontraditional, vocational, and high school students.
