About Charles Vuong

I am a software quality assurance engineer who uses testing methodologies to verify the functionality and reliability of NVMe SSDs. I use various tools such as FIO and VDBench to run some stressful I/O tests and perform warmboots, coldboots, and PLP for reliability tests. I write and automate test cases that conform with industry standards. I also have a solid foundation in both networking concepts and systems administration. I’ve worked with networking protocols such as DNS, DHCP, ARP, UDP, TCP, FTP, IP, switching, trunking, and TCP/IP Model. I’ve also worked with system administration tools such as automation, bash scripting, shell scripting, crontab, creating/deleting user accounts, modifying permissions and configuration files.Besides my technical skills, I have experience working with different engineering groups such as product application, firmware, hardware, and performance to help debug issues that occurred while testing the drive(s). I’ve create my own testing environments as well as helped and trained others in my past roles. I’ve also worked with other members of my team to create an efficient solution to engineering problems that can occur during setup. While working at Violin Memory, I’ve set up engineering test beds in a timely manner that exceeded the expectations of my engineering team, as well as provided documentation and solutions to problems that occurred and/or may arise. During my tenure at Springpath Inc, I\'ve worked with technical experts on resolving issues that no one else in my company knew how to fix. I also maintain the engineering lab environment and seek to resolve \"under-the-radar\" IT issues where no tickets were submitted, but there was still an underlying issue with the system(s). While at SK Hynix Memory Solutions America, I throughly tested the drives to ensure stability and worked with firmware engineers on identifying and resolving bugs that came up.
