ABOUT CHARLES UMIKER
I am a Web Developer who loves finding innovative solutions to tricky problems. Having recently changed careers from teaching to tech, I am eager to secure my first job in the industry. I have a degree in classics from Yale University, and I taught Latin for 16 years until the COVID pandemic inspired me to reconsider my career. My background in classical languages has given me a head start in coding, as my strong sense of logic and ability to “decode” complex conundra serves me well.As a former teacher of Latin, I can make a technical topic accessible to multiple audiences using plain, straightforward language. My teacherly patience and ability to communicate allow me to work well with colleagues and clients alike. Sorting through language puzzles is something I really enjoy, and I am excited to apply my problem solving skills to creating efficient and elegant code in the real world.
