I have extensive experience across a broad range of labor and employment law matters representing businesses in many industries. These industries include BOMA service providers, tech, health care, and restaurants. I have become a trusted advisor to large and small clients that need practical solutions to workplace legal needs. My primary practice areas include -Leaves of Absence/Disability Accommodation - I provide practical advice to employers in the risky, confusing, and infuriating areas of California and federal leaves of absence, disability discrimination and accommodation, and the interactive process. Traditional Labor Relations - I represent union and nonunionized clients in NLRB proceedings and collective bargaining arbitrations. Litigation - Employment Law (Defending Businesses)- I have defended more than a hundred agency charges and lawsuits filed by former or current employees, including federal and state court lawsuits claiming discrimination, harassment, retaliation, failure to pay minimum wage or overtime compensation, and violations of CFRA, FMLA or other leave laws.Training - I am a former high school history, speech, and debate teacher, and still enjoy using those skills in training executive management, supervisors and line employees about workplace issues, including harassment, bullying, leaves of absence, and disability accommodation. The training is interactive, fast-paced, and immersive.Advice and Counseling - Employment Law: I help clients protect their businesses through supervisor and manager training; reviewing and revising employee handbooks, policies, and agreements; and auditing legal compliance programs and solutions.
