Partner in the Special Situations and Restructuring Group at PJT Partners, advising boards, investors, and sponsors on complex restructuring, special-situation, opportunistic, and liability-management transactions.His work centers on solving complex capital structure challenges for companies and sophisticated investors.As both a principal and an advisor, he has led some of the market’s most complex liability-management and restructuring transactions.He has nearly three decades of experience across restructuring, special situations, liability management, opportunistic investing, and turnaround investing.He has deep governance experience, advising boards and special committees and serving as both a board observer and a board member for private and public companies.His work includes liability-management solutions, out-of-court recapitalizations, in-court restructurings, rescue financings, and distressed-for-control private equity transactions.Previously, Charles spent more than eleven years at Anchorage Capital as a member of the Investment Committee and Head of Restructuring, where he built and led the firm’s special situations effort and a team focused on event-driven opportunities.Before Anchorage, he was with Silver Point Capital, leading restructurings across the firm’s liquid hedge fund, direct lending, and distressed-for-control strategies. He began his career at Citigroup as a Director and Senior Analyst on the Distressed Debt Trading Desk after serving as a Vice President in the firm’s restructuring and workout business.
