I am responsible for managing relationships with airports, customers, and stakeholders. In addition, this role serves as a liaison between customers and various departments on matters related to the NAV CANADA business plan, Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) production and potential revenue or cost recovery projects. This is done through the management of a team that coordinates the assessment of complex land use proposals, such as extensive construction projects at the main IFR airports and large-scale developments that could interfere with the air navigation system and our operations. While maintaining safety and efficiency remain the focus, these projects also involve decisions regarding the generation of miscellaneous revenue and taking actions that ensure the maintenance of positive relationships between NAV CANADA and various industry stakeholders.As a national expert in operational facets of the ANS, my role provides technical leadership, participates in the evaluation of complex solutions and makes recommendations to Senior Management based on acceptable analytical procedures of new technologies and work practices. I contribute to strategic planning and ensure the business unit’s alignment of activities with regulatory and safety requirements. I am also responsible for performing capacity planning, impact analysis, risk assessments and providing quantitative and qualitative reports to facilitate senior management decision making.The job engages, influences and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to educate, inform, identify conflicts, establish activity budgets, follow-up and make recommendations for continuous improvement of the team’s performance.

I have 28 years of experience in the aviation, field, including private pilot license, air traffic control, simulation training and Aeronautical Information Management (AIM). As part my new role, I manage a group responsible for identifying aeronautical information projects and investments needed to support operational business requirements of the Flight Information Regions (FIR), airports and other external aviation customers and clients such as airlines and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The portfolio is also responsible to assist clients, stakeholders and customers in having work scheduled and completed within AIM production.
