About Charles Rosen

I am the founder and CEO of Ironbound Hard Cider and New Ark Farms (collectively known as Ironbound Farm), a Newark-based social enterprise focused on workforce development and regenerative agriculture. In addition to New Ark Farm’s commitment to providing living wages to ex-offenders and other underserved members of the Greater Newark community, we developed a curriculum to educate our employees in identity value, conflict resolution, and communications skills. I believe that this soft-skills training will build a stronger workforce and a more welcoming work environment, while also arming our employees with the tools needed to better serve their own communities. As I build these two deeply interconnected companies, I draw heavily on my background as co-founder and former CEO of Amalgamated, a fully-integrated advertising agency globally recognized for its proprietary strategic approach known as Cultural Branding – a methodology for establishing brands as cultural leaders. In addition to my duties as CEO, I led the agency’s efforts in social justice and political advocacy. Having graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 1993, I am a former attorney and sit on the Mayor of Newark’s Corporate Advisory Council and the Newark Workforce Investment Board.

   Jersey Cider Works, makers of Ironbound Hard Cider, is an accessible craft cider made from 100% fresh pressed apples grown in partnership with local small-scale family farms. Instead of using foreign juice from concentrate, Ironbound is made with no added sugar and no added sulfites. Jersey Cider Works is committed to restoring cider to it\'s rightful place as New Jersey\'s beverage of choice- with it\'s long history of cider making, especially in Newark where cider was the city\'s first industry.
