WORK HISTORY
Youth Development Facilitator @Peace Corps
DO
For two years, I served in the Dominican Republic as a Youth Development Facilitator. My role was to foster growth and cross-cultural learning, while working in conjunction with local schools to give youth more access to mentorship, healthy life skills programs, sports leagues, and other areas of need as requested by the community. Through this experience, I have also become fluent in Spanish. Additionally, I served on the leadership board of the Bridge Council where we met quarterly with PCDR executive leadership to discuss/address volunteer issues in country, recruit future PC applicants of diverse backgrounds, and implement new training strategies.A personal highlight of my time on the EDI board, was the initiation of a Mentorship program, connecting incoming PC trainees with current PC volunteers in country to help with cultural transition, and encourage further professional development for all.
