ABOUT CHARLES KNIGHT

Charlie Knight has more than 25 years of experience in various corporate environments, most recently as Contracting Manager, Capital Equipment for CHRISTUS Health. Prior to joining CHRISTUS, he was Vice President of Schaefer Outfitter, a $2.5 million clothing manufacturer/retailer. While at Schaefer, he managed the relocation of offices, warehouse and shipping operations from Mesilla Park, NM to Pearland, TX. Following the relocation, his responsibilities included management of all Accounting and Finance functions, as well as Human Resources, Insurance, Operations and Production. Prior to joining Schaefer, Mr. Knight served as Senior Director of Planning and Development for Stage Stores, Inc. He began his career with Stage Stores as a Project Manager in the Planning & Construction department, quickly earning promotions to Director and Senior Director of Planning & Development. Mr. Knight has been intimately involved in the planning, management and analysis of every phase of new store programming, including site evaluation, acquisition, due diligence, lease negotiation, project budgeting and reporting, design, construction, fixturing, merchandising, store maintenance and disaster response. Prior to joining Stage, he served as Special Districts Manager in the Economic Development Section of the consulting firm Knudson & Associates. Early in his career, Mr. Knight enjoyed serving as a volunteer intern in a U.S. Congressional office and working for the non-profit Citizens for a Sound Economy in Washington, D.C. After leaving D.C, he joined Southdown, Inc. as Environmental Affairs Coordinator. At the time, Southdown was the largest domestically-owned cement manufacturer in the U.S. Mr. Knight earned a bachelor’s degree from Austin College and attended Houston College of Law. He has served on the boards of two municipal utility districts and is a past member of the Professional Retail Store Maintenance (PRSM) Association.
