I am conducting my dissertation research on cochlear implants in Dr. Julie Arenberg\'s laboratory at Mass Eye and Ear. My work is focused on studying the electrode-neuron interface in cochlear implants through psychophysical (auditory detection thresholds using focused stimulation and psychophysical tuning curves) and physiological (ECAP) measures to then create experimental programs for better speech and music perception. I am particularly interested in assessing how cochlear implant recipients \"learn\" to hear with their device, whether upon device activation or upon use of a new strategy in the clinic or research lab. I\'ve also combined my interests in cochlear implant music perception and statistics by studying cochlear implant users\' music streaming history.
