November 2021 - September 2025: I supervised the Montana State Emergency Coordination Center (SECC) staff and serve as the SECC manager during activations for local or statewide emergencies, events, or disasters- As a FEMA approved Master Continuity Practitioner and instructor with the FEMA Continuity Instructor Cadre, I have instructed numerous in-person and online FEMA courses for continuity planners and continuity coordinators across Montana- June 2022 - I served as the SECC Manager for Presidentially declared Yellowstone Floods disaster- September 2022 - I deployed to FEMA Region IV in Atlanta and served as the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) Regional Liaison to assist in FEMA\'s response to Hurricane Ian.November 2021 - June 2023 : I managed the Montana State Continuity Program, responsible for ensuring coordination across state agencies to develop Continuity of Operations Plans according to guidance established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency- I accepted state continuity program responsibility after it was transferred from another agency to Montana DES- assessed program status for gaps- identified and engaged program stakeholders for program perceptions, ideas, and suggestions- established and chaired a program workgroup of the most experienced state continuity planners to serve as advisors in guiding the program- instituted continuity planner and coordinator training for all state agency planning staff to improve the understanding and capabilities in continuity planning- interviewed continuity software vendors for a new continuity planning platform- made recommendations to leadership for the future of the state continuity program before transitioning to a full time role as the SECC manager. In addition to continuity, I coordinated with state agencies to ensure various department response plans are complete which integrate with the State of Montana’s Disaster and Emergency Response Plan.
