WORK HISTORY
IT Specialist @Quest, Inc.
Orlando, FL, US
After nearly one year, management and I agreed that I wasn’t ready to fulfill my job title as a Jr. Systems Administrator. Reason being, my knowledge and experience in the IT field is limited. Management and I agreed that I’ll take a step back and have my job title realigned to IT Specialist, which matches my current skill set. I’m working the same role, which consists of IT generalist work. But I’m no longer on the fast track to Systems Administrator. At this organization, the IT Specialist role combines enterprise IT support with IT field technician work. Basically IT helpdesk mixed with weekly on-site support for numerous facilities. My role summarized:• Resolves technical issues affecting computer hardware, software, network connectivity.• Handles Active Directory security groups, Meraki Mobile Device Management (MDM), Dayforce account management.• Troubleshoots analog phone line and fax line issues at the wall jack and demarcation point.• Resolves Ricoh copier, printer, scanner, fax machine issues.• Troubleshoots network failure issues at various sites by diagnosing the modem and cabling.• Communicates with Spectrum to disable SSID broadcasting for wireless networks that are listed on the modem but aren’t company configured ones.• Images physical machines such as desktops, laptops, tablets for equipment replacement and new hires.• Assists with running network cable through attics and ceilings to modems, routers, switches, access points.• Weekly visits to the organization\'s various sites to resolve IT related issues either reported by staff or found during the visits.

ABOUT CHARLES GONZALES
I’m an IT Specialist with nearly 4 years of hands-on experience resolving technical issues and supporting enterprise environments. I graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in December 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT). And I’ve been CompTIA A+ certified since June 2025.I started out as a Systems Support Specialist Intern at CentralSquare Technologies, where I’ve gained almost two years of experience in the field by the time that I’ve graduated in December 2023. After graduating, I joined Quest, Inc. as a Jr. Systems Administrator. By October 2024, management and I agreed this role wasn’t the best fit for me, since I\'ve moved from IT support to IT infrastructure way too fast, and my lack of experience had hindered my performance. As a result, I transitioned to IT Specialist, which is a role that aligns with my current skill set. I take pride in being the person who shows up, keeps workstations running, and assists with technical issues. I love being the IT support person who’s always on-site that my fellow employees can rely on for assistance. I really enjoy it.Overall, I love working in internal IT support and assisting end users with their technical problems. It has been a fun experience for me thus far, and I plan to stay in this field for quite some time. Please feel free to connect with me. I love to meet new people!
