About Charles Davis

I am a plant biodiversity scientist seeking to understand life on Earth. My research interests include evolutionary ecology, comparative genomics, climate change, and symbioses, including those pertaining to species of human use. I pursue my interests as Professor at Harvard University in the Department of Evolutionary Biology, where I teach a course on Humans and Plants, a course on Natural History Museums and the Anthropocene, and an advanced course on Plant Evolution and Diversity. In addition to my faculty role, I am Curator of Vascular Plants of the world’s largest university herbarium, the Harvard University Herbaria.
