Chuck Nagengast PE - Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer Between my years with Amoco Chemicals and BP/Amoco’s production company I’ve bought installed, commissioned, started up and ironed the bugs out of every type of pump and compressor commonly used in this industry: Recip compressors; both 618 process type and 11P oilfield type, motor and engine driven. Centrifugal compressors; 617 beam type multistage, Sundyne single stage, and integrally geared (Demag plus some Centac type air compressors) Centrifugal pumps; both ANSI and API, API up to 8500 psig barrel pumps for water injection Screw Compressors; both oil flooded and dry type (Mycom, Kobelco, AC) Liquid Ring Vacuum pumps (both SIHI and NASH) PD pumps; both 674 plunger type up to psig and 675 metering, plus IMO Rotary and Moyno progressive cavity types. Gas Turbines both industrial and Aero Derivative (Solar and GE). Steam Turbines (mostly Elliott 612 type, but some smaller 611 type, Elliott YRs and Coppus Murray). With 35 years doing this I can pretty much match resumes and experience with anyone out there, in particular having seen both the supplier side (my years at Dresser Rand), the engineering side with Amoco/BP Capital projects, the Maintenance side, my years at Texas City Chemicals as the Aromatics Maintenance and Reliability Team Lead, and the Operations side, with all manner of startup and initial years operation of the machines I installed with Amoco/BP.
