ABOUT CHARLES CAPPELLI

I currently work full time as Digital & Data Lead at Core Five. This is a new role that has developed out of my interest in having a better understanding of what we as a company are working on and how this information can be used to provide better insight into the industry. Prior to this I was an associate in residential team working on a broad range of projects ranging from feasibility studies for master plans to extremely complicated cut & carve schemes. In the past I have worked for a global private multidisciplinary consultancy practice as a Senior Cost Consultant. My work activities consisted of undertaking measurements, drafting various elements of initial reports, producing budgets, forensic surveying, checking valuations and other non QS roles such as drafting and issuing Contract Instructions. Prior to this role I studied a BS\'c Hons degree in Quantity Surveying at the University of Reading where I was able to achieve first class honours. This degree also allowed me to undertake a sandwich year working as an assistant Quantity Surveyor for Europe\'s largest main contractor, Vinci. Whilst there I developed several practical skills including commercial awareness, working under pressure, providing diplomatic solutions in hostile environments and dealing with clients on a regular basis. I have worked with a broad range of client\'s including various developers, house builders, local authorities, public sector bodies, investors, banks and several private clients on the times 100 rich list.
