About Charles Peyser
I work at Google as a member of the speech research group, where I specialize in the language modeling components of the Google Assistant\'s speech recognition system. I\'ve published seven first-authored papers in speech recognition and machine learning conferences, including a recent awarded paper at ICASSP. For four years, I worked simultaneously at Google and NYU as I earned my PhD in Computer Science. My dissertation was titled \"Neural Language Representations and Scaling Semi-Supervised Learning for Speech Recognition\" and was advised by Professors Kyunghyun Cho and Michael Picheny. Before I worked in machine learning, I helped build Bazel (bazel.io), Google\'s build system. Over four years, I contributed to many components of Google\'s development stack. I have my bachelors from Princeton, where I earned the annual Outstanding Computer Science Researcher and Computer Science Thesis awards.
