About Charlie Clark
Clifton strengths: Individualization, Achiever, Relator, Learner, Arranger.I am a mechanical engineer passionate about bridging the gap between R&D and manufacturing. In my role, I design custom fixtures and assembly aids for NPD projects, while also supporting early manufacturing development. I recently completed the Advanced Operations and Global Engineering Development Program (AOGEDP), which exposed me to cross-functional engineering teams with Stryker Medical. Rotating on different engineering teams taught me the importance of early collaboration between operations teams and design, as well as process-related education for designers, to avoid unnecessary high manufacturing costs and difficult design changes after a product launch. I created trainings on powder coat and CAD (specifically Creo) for the Advanced Operations and R&D, to foster better understanding of a manufacturing process and the associated limitations with it.Additionally, I am a maker. I enjoy working with my hands to create a physical part or mechanism to solve a problem. I am excited and passionate about my work in NPD because there are always new problems to solve, and inspiring new ideas every day. In my day to day, I use CAD and 3D printing to turn my ideas into virtual and physical concepts.
