ABOUT CHARLIE BONNEY

Class of 2025 economics major + computer science minor at Bowdoin College. My natural willingness to pursue efficient, utilitarian outcomes in my daily life and observe inefficiencies in the world around me is an integral part of my identity. At some point in the future, I hope to find a particular inefficiency and make solving it my life\'s work. In the meantime, I hope to pursue a career that will establish me in the corporate world – to build networks, to learn from mentors, and to gain expertise in industries beyond the scope of my education. My urge to address inefficiency is the cause and effect of my choice of major – Economics. Intermediate Microeconomics with Prof. Martin Abel helped me see every decision in terms of trade-offs. Intermediate Macroeconomics with Prof. Matthew Botsch helped me see how the macro economy is one big trade-off. My liberal arts education beyond Economics in Philosophy, Computer Science, and Mathematics sharpened my critical thinking, argumentative skills, and structured approach to problems. At the end of the day, I am a curious, self-starter, willing to learn on the fly and unwilling to back down from a challenge. No matter the specific role I end up in, I will try to learn as much as possible and leverage that knowledge to help businesses grow. I am fascinated by any early career path in which I do one or all of the following: 1. Use data to optimize outcomes given certain constraints 2. Encourage the growth of companies that address inefficiencies in business and the world beyond 3. Advise companies that hope to operate more efficiently 4. Shape the future of urban areas in the world around me (I know this one is out of nowhere but it is a particular interest of mine)
