ABOUT CHARLENE SCHAFER
I am passionate about all things real estate! I am a commercial real estate lawyer who maintains a general transactional real estate practice with a focus on sophisticated commercial deals, particularly in the private equity space. My expertise ranges from portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, mortgage lending, investment fund creation and management, construction, development, leasing and mergers and acquisitions. I represent clients in all real estate sectors, including pension funds, owners, managers, private equity funds, developers and local and international investors. I am an active member of numerous industry groups such as CREW, NAIOP, ICSC, ULI, BILD, RECO and OREA. I am also a guest lecturer and course instructor for REALPAC, as well as sit on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association\'s Real Property Executive. On a personal level, I am keen to raise awareness of issues relating to animal welfare and wellness, with an emphasis on utilizing my legal skills to bring about change and improvement to the lives of animals. I am also very much interested in real estate investment, world affairs, travel, fitness and baking. I am a board member of the Georgian Triangle Humane Society.
