ABOUT CHARLA BRITT
Charla Britt is a gender expert, social development specialist and environmental sociologist who has worked with USAID, MCC, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, AIIB, community groups, I/NGOs, and community-based federations on natural resources management, community forestry, social norms and behavior change, health and nutrition, climate adaptation and resilience, green transitions, women’s economic empowerment, energy, inclusive transport, sustainable agriculture, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), education and vocational training, women’s employment and self-employment, private sector engagement and gender-lens investing. Her expertise encompasses gender and social inclusion due diligence, participatory research methods and approaches, institutional and political economy analysis, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning methodologies. Over 20+ years she has worked effectively with diverse stakeholders in multilingual, multicultural, and multi-sectoral situations, conducting analyses/assessments, monitoring and evaluating outputs and outcomes, developing strategies and action plans, preparing reports and briefs, conducting capacity-building trainings, and integrating environment and social (E&S) considerations in projects and programs, feasibility studies, surveys, environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs), resettlement and livelihoods restoration, and risk prevention and mitigation strategies.
