STARBASE Minnesota is a leading educational nonprofit organization founded in 1993 whose purpose is to inspire and education youth in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). A program of the Department of Defense and hosted by the MN National Guard, STARBASE Minnesota - Duluth educates and inspires thousands of regional 5th graders through its innovative and highly effective programs.As Director of STARBASE Minnesota - Duluth, I lead the on-going operations of the program, including oversight of the development of its educational programs for grade 5 students. Organizational responsibilities include set-up of organizational and program systems; set-up of facility/classrooms to meet programmatic needs; manage budgets, finances and inventory; hire and supervise licensed teaching team of instructors and oversee training needs to implement STARBASE programming; implement metrics for success; write grants and secure financial support of the program. As director, I work closely with the 148th Fighter Wing to recruit volunteers to enhance programming as well as local school districts, colleges and universities and industry partners.
