My name is Charisse Spence and I graduated from the University of Florida with my Bachelor of Design degree in Interior Design in May 2019. I decided to study interior design because I had a passion to make something from nothing within the built environment. I saw the importance of creating spaces that catered to all people in a functional way. Along the way, I realized I became very interested in how a design is built. I wanted to know the processes that takes place when building a project. As a result, I pursued my Master of Science degree in Building Construction and Facility Management with a concentration in Program Management at Georgia Institute of Technology. I currently work with Suffolk Construction as an Assistant Project Manager. I had the opportunity to rotate between 3 departments at Suffolk to understand construction form a holistic approach. They were: Estimating, Field Operations, and Project Management. I aspire to become a Project Manager or Project Executive who is eager to utilize her knowledge and gain more knowledge of problem solving, communication, and people skills to successfully delivery a project on time, within budget, and of quality.
